Representative Sugimoto will be acting as an advisor at the 62nd Kanto Koshinetsu Regional Federation of Research Associations for Education for the Weak and Frail on Friday, August 22nd.
In the "Psychosomatic Disorders I" subcommittee, I will be talking about supporting elementary and junior high school students with mental illnesses to return to school. Supporting students to return to school is an important area that is also related to support for school refusal and, ultimately, to inpatient treatment for school refusal. The "TS Protocol & IFS Lecture" featuring Dr. Toshio Sugiyama will be held on Saturday, November 1st, as a hybrid event held both in person at the Niigata Medical Professional Development Center and online. He spoke about trauma care, the activities of Counseling Office VISION, and the NPO Niigata Trauma Treatment Association.

Representative Sugimoto gave a presentation at the 20th Annual Meeting of the Japanese EMDR Society on Saturday, July 19th, and was asked to serve as one of the two chairpersons of the general meeting, chairing the agenda for the first half of the meeting.
During his presentation, he spoke about the combined use of EMDR and the TS protocol manual processing, the importance of trauma-responsive care, and more.

On Saturday, November 1st, we will be hosting a “TS Protocol & IFS Lecture” at the Medical Professional Development Center, featuring Dr. Toshio Sugiyama!
Dr. Toshio Sugiyama will provide the latest information on the TS Protocol, while Dr. Jun Nawa and Dr. Kaori Miura from VISION will talk about the IFS in practice. This lecture will be held as part of the "2025 Red Feather Trauma Care for All Community Fundraiser."

VISION’s new group therapy “Leaf
"Leaf, a group for people who feel difficulty in living Target: Men and women in their teens to thirties who are feeling difficulties in living.(This is a group therapy in Japanese only.) There are various reasons for the difficulty in living. This group is for those who do not know how to get along with others, are concerned about being different from others, are worried about what others think of them, want to talk about themselves, want to hear how others are doing, and want to feel safe with others. We will also practice relaxation. Max. 5 people (min. 2 people) 2nd or 3rd Wednesday of the month from 15:00 to 16:00 Group Therapy “Leaf” will be held in 5 sessions, and the fee is 6,000 yen per session. New group therapy sessions “Flower” and “Leaf” will begin (Information on “Flower”)
Flower,” a group for adult children Target: Group for women over 30 who consider themselves to be adult children.(This is a group therapy in Japanese only.) Adult children (AC) are those who grew up in dysfunctional families, whose adult circumstances took precedence over their own, and who were not fully able to be children in their childhood. The target group includes those who were in an abusive environment as children, were in a position to take care of their parents or siblings, or were forced to conform to their parents' wishes, and were unable to feel and express their will and emotions as children due to various reasons. Maximum of 5 people (minimum of 2 people) 4th or 5th Tuesday of the month from 15:00 to 16:00 Group Therapy “Flower” will be held in 5 sessions, and the fee is 6,000 yen per session.
