We have launched a website to accept donations to support the victims of the March 4 fire
[Counseling Office VISION: Background on the Launch of the March 4 Fire Relief Fund Website] As we announced on our website and social media, our office suffered a fire in the early hours of March 4. According to the fire department’s investigation, the fire appears to have started near a portable battery charger located in the office. Fortunately, no one was injured; however, as our office was the source of the fire, we deeply apologize to our neighbors and all those involved for the inconvenience and concern this has caused. We are deeply grateful to the many people who have reached out to us, asking, “Aren’t you going to start a crowdfunding campaign?” and offering to help. However, while crowdfunding might be appropriate for natural disasters, it seems unreasonable to us to solicit support through such a campaign for a fire caused by our own negligence. Furthermore, since our business does not involve handling open flames, we only have minimal fire insurance coverage. The upcoming interior renovation work will require a significant out-of-pocket expense, placing our business in a very difficult financial situation. Therefore, while we will not be launching a large-scale crowdfunding campaign, we have created this “Fire Relief Fund” page to serve as a channel for donations from those who wish to support VISION. https://vision-104741.square.site/vision34 We sincerely ask for your warm support and cooperation.
